Private  Collection of African Art (Sculpture)


Jim visited Africa for the first time in 1972, while being a graduate student at Columbia University in New York.
At the time he was awarded a travel scholarship to undertake research in four West African countries. 
It was during that time that he was able to observe African traditions and started his collection of African art.
He has lived in Africa for 15 years and has visited 50 of the 54 countries on the Continent over the last 40 years.
He has a wide collection of African art, some of which are shown below. African motifs are often featured in his work.
